Arts & Letters Daily, in conjunction with Academic Partners, is looking for a leading online ad salesperson. The primary focus of the position will be selling for Arts & Letters Daily. The right candidate will also be involved in helping to define the online sales structure, working with the print sales team to coordinate efforts, and working with editors and development to optimize the process and help market the site. The position also includes the opportunity to sell across all our sites as well as our print publications.

Web Developer

Arts & Letters Daily and Academic Partners are looking for a high flying web developer to lead the technical development of our rapidly growing online operations.

We are looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in HTML,/DHTML, Linux/Unix, experience with server management (preferably Apache) and Perl/CGI (a plus). SSI, ColdFusion or comparable dynamic page development experience preferred.

This person will lead the technical development of our family of web sites, manage production staff and freelancers, and maintain communication with editorial staff as we integrate increased functionality into our web sites. Responsibilities will range from posting new content and building database solutions to product development, content creation, and technology application decision-making. This position is ideal for a self-starter with exceptional HTML skills, a desire and ability to learn quickly, and a desire to work in a creative and intellectually stimulating company.

Ad Traffic Manager

Arts & Letters Daily and Academic Partners are looking for someone to lead our online ad trafficking responsibilities for our network of sites. We're looking for a bright, self-motivated individual who is interested in getting into the world of online advertising. This is an opportunity to learn, take responsibility, and test yourself all at once. We need someone who will thrive on the opportunity to be part of building a business from the bottom up within the stability of an established company.

Primary responsibilities will include developing an ad trafficking process using our DoubleClick DART system, inputting and managing campaigns, creating reports for clients, and working with sales people and editorial to grow and optimize the advertising effort. As with any small, organic office, you will also get a chance to roll up your sleeves and pitch in on a variety of fronts, including ad sales, marketing and product development.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to online trafficking processes and/or online ad sales, be good at learning technical systems quickly, and have strong communication and organizational skills. Internships

Lingua Franca seeks interns for the spring 2001 semester..

The requirements are a fresh perspective and the ability to juggle multiple intellectual and administrative tasks. Though our interns do not get paid, we do offer both flexible hours and the intimacy of a small staff.

The internships will last the duration of the spring academic semester. We prefer our interns to be able to work at least three days per week, but hours are negotiable.
